Sweet Family + Cold Temperatures = Amazing Shoot

A few weeks ago, I had a amazing photo shoot. I have known this family for quite some time and they are just as sweet as they are cute! It was so cold that day. So cold that we had a complete shoot with over 100 shots done in about 35 minutes! They were so patient and you wouldn't have ever known they were frozen to the bone! Thank you Bayer's family for a great shoot!

Wedding Requests

I've recently received several inquiries for weddings. I thought maybe a Q & A would hopefully clear up some ?'s.

I think the first thing I'm always asked is how many weddings have I shot?

.. I've shot 5 on my own in the last 4 years. I've second shot about 15 in the last 2 years.

Why don't you see more on the blog or face book?

.. I like to actually meet with potential clients for weddings. Weddings are a huge day for the Bride to Be and photography is one of the most important parts. If you don't like your photographer the second you meet, it could ruin your day. Just like that!

I also respect the privacy of my previous clients. I don't always blog every session. If a client asks me to I am very happy to share my work and a little story about them. In today's world some clients just don't want their photos on Facebook or my Blog.

Why aren't the prices listed for weddings?

.. Each wedding needs something. Something different, then the last wedding I shot. I only do custom pricing for your particular day.

I Heart Faces ~ Cell Phone

I heart Faces Cell Phone! I love my iphone and I love my Canon! But not always being able to be a mom in mom mode means having easy access to a phone! And, there are so many great apps out there that make it lots of fun!









This is Max. We are a family that loves spring, summer and baseball! It was in the 70's yesterday so off we went for a little batting practice. This will be his first year in T-ball and he has the concept down but the facial expressions he makes are priceless!

I heart Faces Winter Wonderland

Winter, it's usually blah here in the plains. We have flat ground and our snow is usually drifted and not so pretty. I decided to add some color this year. Winter is long enough and we all need a little sunshine in our lives right? This is my neighbors little girl, she's aDORAble! So, off we went on Sunday afternoon for a little sun + snow = Sweet little Serenity!

Casting Call

You may notice some changes coming on my blog: it will be more like my Blog instead of my main site! 


I am currently in the process of a HUGE upgrade on my site. If you have a newborn or a child under the age of 2 I will gladly come shoot the photos at your house (since our winter weather is NOT cooperating for out door fun) You will receive 10 edited images on a cd with a copyright release. These images will be used for my new website! You would be helping me out immensley! You must live in the Kansas City Metro! 


The new site is scheduled to launch by Feb. 1. This site will be redirected from that point on and known as Photography by Tricia Nugen "The Blog".

Meet BHS Senior Rep Brittany

I met Brittany through her parents. We play on a coed softball team together. They are awesome people and she is an amazing young girl, who thinks I'm not to old to be uncool! She wants to be a nurse when she grows up. She's a softball star and I'll be honest, I haven't seen her play yet but I fully intend to make myself present at one of her games! Then I totally expect her to teach me how to smack that ball! This was our first session and these were taken in the most amazing light in a awesome new photo sight! I can't wait until our next session!







I truly love doing seniors. I love the sense of adventure and excitement about everything life has to offer. My favorite question I always, always ask my Seniors if they could be on the cover of an album who's would it be.... I always try to guess and my guess for Brittany was Sugarland... her answer Antebellum! Not to shabby for a old woman who turned 35 today huh?

3 + 1 = Happy Family in waiting

I have known this family for about 4 years. We've had some special times and a different relationship then I have with most. I knew them when it was just 2 and not 3 of them. Now, there is this little princess who is getting ready to be a big sister!(She does have an older sister who wasn't there tonight) She will be fantastic at it. She is so cute I could just squeeze her.



Mom is due son and I'm hoping she holds out it's closer to my birthday!

And, then sometimes you just get super lucky. You catch a perfect mommy and princess moment. J I hope you are ready for a house of girls!
